Indoor Soccer U05-U10 - Jan/Feb/Mar 2018

The ESFC Indoor Soccer program is open to all Southeast MI residents.  The program is designed around FUN and skills development for ages 4 through 4th grade. All teams are Co-Ed and are led by volunteer parent coaches with direction from Select professional coaches. Playing time is divided equally among all players.

Indoor FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

 

Q: Who can register for this program?
A: ESFC programs are open to all Southeast Michigan residents.  The program is designed around FUN and skills development for ages 4-0 and 10-14 years old. All teams are Co-Ed and are assisted by volunteer parents and Select coaches. Playing time is divided equally among all players. 

Q: What are the dates for the 2017-2018 1st session indoor program?
A: The dates for this year's Nov/Dec Indoor program are: 11/18, 12/2, 12/9, 12/16, 1/6, 1/13, & 1/20. 

Q: What are the dates for the 2017-2018 2nd session indoor program?
A: The dates for this year's Jan/Feb/March Indoor program are: 1/27, 2/3, 2/10, 2/24, 3/3/, 3/10 & 3/17. 

Q: Is food allowed in the dome?
A: No. Please adhere to a strict policy of WATER ONLY in the dome. Thank you.

Q: When are the games played?
A:  Saturdays and Sunday afternoons.

Q:  Do I need to order a jersey for this program?
A: Yes. A $25 reversible Eastside FC recreation jersey is required. Future sale dates will be communicated. The jersey is reusable each year.

Q: How many players are on the field during a game, what format is played?
A: The format for the games will be in accordance with US Soccer Standards, which is 4v4 with no goalies and the length of the games will be 48 minutes. Please arrive promptly.

Q: Are there positions on the field like defense or forward?
A: There are no positions which promotes creativity in the development of young players.

Q: Are parents reimbursed for volunteering?
A: Unlike the outdoor recreation program, we will not be reimbursing parent coaches for registration fees. An Eastside FC Recreation Director will be monitoring games.

Q:  What should my child wear to games?  
A: Game uniforms consist of an ESFC Recreation jersey and black athletic shorts of your choice.  You child should also wear shin guards and soccer cleats are recommended, although tennis shoes are permitted.  Pinnies will be provided at the game to distinguish teams. 

Q:  How are teams set up?
A:  The main criteria we use for team formation:

-Divide the players by age group, grade, and school area.
-Determine areas for the volunteer coaches.
-Form teams around the coaches, using players from the same school area where      possible, while maintaining the same gender ratio for all teams.
-Fill teams with players from areas that do not have enough coaches.  If we have  more players than coaches, we will refund money to the players we are unable to place.
-Late registrants are added to teams that need players, regardless of school area.  Some may not be placed.  

The key thing to remember is that our goal is to place as  many players as possible to promote good sportsmanship, healthier youth, improvement in soccer skills, and to have FUN!  Due to the popularity and size of our programs, we are unable to honor special requests for team placement.

Note: Players CANNOT "play down" (in a lower age group) per State guidelines.

Q:  Can I get a refund?
A:  Refund requests received prior to first game of the season will be issued by check, minus a $25 cancellation fee. Refund requests after season has started will not be issued.

Player / Parent Conduct:  Please remember that sportsmanship is the essence of the game. Coaches are to be positive role models for their players and encourage sportsmanship by showing respect and courtesy for all players, coaches, officials, and spectators at every practice and game. Eastside FC maintains a strict  ZERO TOLERANCE policy for all club events.
